Yesterday's news about a dental office shutdown in the Rittenhouse area has caused understandable alarm — and significant confusion. We want to address it directly.
Philly Smiles is NOT the practice in the news.
The office involved is called Smiles at Rittenhouse Square, located at 255 South 17th Street. It is a separate practice, with different ownership, different staff, and a different address. The similarity in our names and neighborhood has led many people to contact us in distress tonight — and we want every one of you to know clearly: that situation has nothing to do with us.
Here is what we want you to know about Philly Smiles:
Our practice has been at 1804 Rittenhouse Square for over 30 years.
We have never received a license suspension, a health department citation, or a patient safety complaint.
We strictly follow and exceed all infection control standards set by the CDC, the American Dental Association, and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
Every instrument that enters your mouth is fully sterilized between patients. All single-use supplies are discarded after one use — every time, without exception.
If you have any questions or concerns about your care, please call us directly. We will answer you honestly and personally, as we always have.
We are open. We are safe. We are grateful for the trust you have placed in us.
