Founded by Dr. Joseph Roberts and Dr. Kathryn Ames, Philly Smiles has always been more than a dental office. It’s a reflection of their vision to create a practice where patients feel like family, decisions are made together, and care goes beyond the clinical.
Today, that legacy continues through our full team of providers, including Dr. Shruti Tewari and Dr. Sheena Hauser, each bringing their own warmth, expertise, and personalized approach to dentistry.
Our practice is privately owned and proudly fee-for-service. That means your care isn’t dictated by insurance limitations. Instead, we work together to design a treatment plan that fits your goals, timeline, and comfort — without cutting corners.

One of the most unique aspects of Philly Smiles is where we’re located: the Thomas A. Reilly House, built in 1891 by famed Victorian architect Frank Furness. As one of the last remaining Furness-designed homes on Rittenhouse Square, our office offers more than just beautiful views — it offers a deep connection to Philadelphia’s rich history.
Inside, patients are greeted with original wood paneling, warm details, and a calming residential feel. Many say it doesn’t feel like a dental office at all — until they experience our modern technology and high-level treatment.
